Craftsman Riding Lawn Mower Battery Charging

Connect the black charger cable to the black, negative battery terminal. Set the battery charger to 12 volts and 10 amps or less. Plug in the charger. The charger should fully charge the battery in one hour at the 10-amp setting.
If your battery won't hold a charge, connect it to the charger. If it isn't fully charged within 8 hours, your lawn mower battery is dead and you'll need to replace it. If your battery does charge fully, the charge should not drain if it is not in use.
If a lawn tractor battery will not charge, the issue may be with the engine, diode, battery ground, or fuse. Use our lawn tractor repair guide to troubleshoot.
